About the Māpua Community Hall
community built, community owned, community run . . .
Re-opened on August 23rd 2013, the old hall was closed in December 2012 and the planned upgrade began, adding many new features and future-proofing the old building. Originally a packing shed at Kina, the shed was moved to Mapua in 1944 and developed as the Mapua Hall. The Hall was officially opened on the 9th March 1945.
The Community Hall was developed and is run by the Māpua Public Hall Society, an incorporated Society, elected from the community and a charitable trust. Funding for our Hall is generated through venue hire, membership, donations and community grants.
Māpua Hall offers a number of multi-functional spaces for hire for any event or group.
